Jaya has always been passionate about working with students; her genuine interest to help them reach their highest potential has been her driving force to become an educational consultant. Her career draws on a background in university-level teaching and lecturing, alongside professional roles in the tech and service sectors. Volunteering and pro bono work have long been an important part of her community involvement.
Jaya has served on the PTA board for many years at different schools in the Irvine Unified School District as VP/Historian, Gifted and Talented Education (GATE) coordinator, Alternative Program for Academically Advanced Students (APAAS) coordinator, and chairperson for various fundraising events. She has also been a part of a professional parent volunteer group, supporting project based learning at Northwood High School. She provides independent college counseling services to support underprivileged high school students in navigating the college planning and application process. Jaya is diligent, detail oriented, and committed in her work.
Jaya holds her Master's degree in Economics. She received her Independent Educational Consultant certificate from the University of California, Irvine and training from the Summer Institute of the Independent Educational Consultant Association. She is a professional member of the IECA, a premier organization that promotes the highest quality independent educational consulting to students and families. As an avid educator and mentor, she continues to expand her professional experience in educational consulting through conferences, workshops, college visits, and conversations with admissions directors, keeping pace with trends in college campuses, culture, and the admissions process.
